This LP5K monoclonal antibody reacts with human cytokeratin 7 (K7), a 54-kDa type II (basic) keratin expressed in simple epithelia, mesothelium, urothelium, and pseudostratified epithelium. Expression in gastric foveolar, intestinal, and stratified squamous epithelia is very low or undetectable.
Cytokeratins form the intracellular cytoskeletal network maintaining cell and tissue integrity. Most carcinomas express cytokeratin 7, and its co-expression with cytokeratin 20 serves as a diagnostic marker for various carcinomas.
Applications Reported: Suitable for immunoblotting (WB) and immunocytochemistry (ICC).
Applications Tested: Tested by immunofluorescent staining of paraformaldehyde-fixed and permeabilized cells. Recommended concentration ≤10 µg/mL; titration advised for optimal performance.

Target Information
Cytokeratin 7 blocks interferon-dependent interphase and stimulates DNA synthesis in cells. It is involved in translational regulation of human papillomavirus type 16 E7 mRNA (HPV16 E7).
