Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of MEKK1 only when phosphorylated at Thr1400, which site has been historically referenced as Thr1402.
Target Information
Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling cascades include MAPK or extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK), MAPK kinase (MKK or MEK), and MAPK kinase kinase (MAPKKK or MEKK).
MAPKK kinase/MEKK phosphorylates and activates its downstream protein kinase, MAPK kinase/MEK, which in turn activates MAPK.
These kinases are highly conserved, with homologs in yeast, Drosophila, and mammalian cells.
MEKK1 can phosphorylate and activate MAPKK1 and MAPKK2 (MEK1/MEK2), leading to phosphorylation of MAP kinases, and is a highly efficient activator of the JNK cascade.
The protein contains one RING-type zinc finger and one SWIM-type zinc finger.
