They combine multiple different recombinant monoclonal antibodies, providing the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity of monoclonal antibodies, and the consistency of recombinant production.

These antibodies recognize multiple epitope sites on the target, enabling higher detection sensitivity for low-abundance targets. Each lot maintains consistent antibody composition, eliminating variability seen in polyclonal antibody production.

Target Information

The muscarinic cholinergic receptors are part of the G protein-coupled receptor family. Their functional diversity is defined by acetylcholine binding, mediating cellular responses such as adenylate cyclase inhibition, phosphoinositide degradation, and potassium channel regulation.

Muscarinic receptors influence many acetylcholine effects in the central and peripheral nervous systems. The muscarinic cholinergic receptor 1 (CHRM1) is involved in vagally induced bronchoconstriction and gastric acid secretion. The gene encoding this receptor is localized to chromosome 11q13.
