Product Specific Information
MA1-06511 detects plakophilin-3 in human, mouse, and canine cells.
It has been successfully used in Western blotting, immunoprecipitation, immunocytochemistry, and immunohistochemistry.
By Western blot, it detects an approximately 87 kDa band representing Plakophilin-3.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues F(570)–F(589) of human plakophilin-3.
Target Information
Plakophilin-3 is an Armadillo-like protein present in nuclei and desmosomes of epithelial cells, with expression largely restricted to epithelial cell types.
It localizes along cell borders in a punctate pattern typical of desmosomal proteins and also appears as bright nuclear speckles.
Like plakophilin-1 and -2, plakophilin-3 shows dual localization in the desmosomal plaque and the nucleus, suggesting a role in signal transduction between the plasma membrane and nucleus.
The human protein has a predicted molecular mass of approximately 87 kDa.
