Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, an additional desalting step is recommended using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) plays a key role in vascular, renal, and myocardial physiology.
Unlike its homolog ACE, ACE2 expression is mainly found in the heart, kidney, and testis.
ACE2 also functions as a receptor for the SARS coronavirus.
Physiologically, ACE2 converts angiotensin I (AngI) to Ang1-9 and AngII to Ang1-7, whereas ACE converts AngI to AngII.
Deficiency of ACE2 in mice results in severely reduced cardiac contractility, underscoring its role in cardiac regulation.
