Target Information
Aquaporin 12 (AQP12)는 포유류 AQP 패밀리 중 가장 최근에 확인된 구성원으로, 췌장 선방세포(pancreatic acinar cells)에 특이적으로 발현됩니다.
세포 내에서 주로 위치하며, AQP12 유전자 결손 마우스(AQP12-KO)를 이용한 연구에서 정상 조건에서는 야생형(WT)과 큰 차이가 없었으나, cholecystokinin-8 (CCK-8) 유사체로 유도된 췌장염 모델에서는 AQP12-KO 마우스가 WT보다 심한 병리적 손상을 보였습니다.
