Target Information
FGFR4 is a member of the FGFR family of receptor tyrosine kinases. This family regulates numerous cellular functions, including angiogenesis, mitogenesis, osteogenesis, myogenesis, carcinogenesis, cellular differentiation, and tissue repair after injury.
FGFR family proteins are implicated in diseases such as cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, and diabetic retinopathy.
FGFR4 is required for normal down-regulation of CYP7A1 expression, the rate-limiting enzyme in bile acid synthesis, in response to FGF19. It also plays roles in postnatal lung development and skeletal muscle lineage formation.
