Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts specifically with the 23 kDa NY-ESO-1 protein. Reactivity was confirmed with human SKMEL-37 melanoma cells during development.
Target Information
NY-ESO-1 is a member of the CT (cancer/testis) family and a tumor-specific shared antigen with distinctive immunogenicity. It plays a key role in T cell-mediated antitumor immunity, recognized by CD8+ T cells. Both cytotoxic T lymphocytes and antibodies can react with this antigen. NY-ESO-1 is detected in normal testis and various human tumor types, with testis reactivity restricted to germ cells, particularly spermatogonia.
