  • Reconstitution: Add 50 µL or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW) depending on sample size.

Target Information

MaxiK channels are large conductance, voltage- and calcium-sensitive potassium channels that regulate smooth muscle tone and neuronal excitability. These channels consist of a pore-forming alpha subunit and a modulatory beta subunit. The KCNMB3 gene encodes a beta subunit that can partially inactivate or slightly decrease the activation time of MaxiK alpha subunit currents. Multiple transcript variants exist due to alternative splicing. A related pseudogene is located on chromosome 22.
