Product Specific Information

Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This antibody specifically reacts with human Cyclin T2 proteins (74 and 81 kDa isoforms) by western blot. Protein BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with Cyclin T2a and T2b from dog (96%), bovine (93%), mouse (88%), and rat (85%) based on high sequence homology. Reactivity with homologues from other species is unknown.

Target Information

Cyclin T2 belongs to the conserved cyclin family, characterized by periodic protein abundance through the cell cycle. Cyclins regulate CDK kinases and exhibit distinct expression and degradation patterns, coordinating mitotic events. Cyclin T2 and CDK9 form subunits of the transcription elongation factor p-TEFb, which interacts with and negatively regulates HIV-1 Tat protein. A pseudogene is located on chromosome 1. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
