Product Specific Information
- In Western blots, approximately 15% cross-reactivity with recombinant human (rh) Serpin F2.
- Less than 1% cross-reactivity with recombinant mouse (rm) Serpin C1, rmSerpin D1, rhSerpin A1, rmSerpin A5, and rhSerpin C1.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the serpin family of serine protease inhibitors. The protein is a major inhibitor of plasmin, which degrades fibrin and various other proteins. Proper function of this gene is crucial for regulating the blood clotting pathway. Mutations cause alpha-2-plasmin inhibitor deficiency, leading to severe hemorrhagic diathesis. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
