Product Specific Information
MA1-744 detects actin protein in human, mouse, rat, bovine, sheep, drosophila, zebrafish (Danio rerio), yeast, arabidopsis, and xenopus samples.
This antibody shows cross-reactivity with actin isoforms 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 11, and 12.
It has been successfully used in Western blot and ELISA applications.
By Western blot, this antibody detects a 45 kDa protein corresponding to actin.
The immunogen used is purified actin protein from Arabidopsis.
Target Information
Actin is a ubiquitous protein forming filaments that constitute a large portion of the cytoskeleton.
Actin filaments interact with myosin to assist in muscle contraction, cell motility, and cytokinesis.
In vertebrates, actin isoforms are classified into three groups: alpha, beta, and gamma.
- Alpha actins: Found in muscle tissues, major component of the contractile apparatus.
- Beta and gamma actins: Present in most cell types, involved in cytoskeleton structure and internal cell motility.
