Target Information
AGO1 is a member of the Argonaute family of proteins which play a role in RNA interference. The protein is highly basic and contains PAZ and PIWI domains. It may interact with Dicer1 and participate in short-interfering-RNA-mediated gene silencing. AGO1 binds to miRNAs or siRNAs and represses the translation of target mRNAs.
