G2/M 단계의 세포주기 진행과 세포질분열 중 절단(abscission)에 필요하며, ECT2 의존적 방식으로 작용합니다.
CDK1을 직접 탈인산화하여 그 키나아제 활성을 자극합니다. 세 가지 아이소폼은 서로 다른 수준의 활성을 보입니다.
