Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Pyridoxal kinase (PDXK) converts vitamin B6 to pyridoxal-5-phosphate (PLP), an essential cofactor in amino acid and neurotransmitter metabolism.
The PDXK gene encodes a 312-amino acid polypeptide exhibiting pyridoxal kinase activity. A 1.5-kb PDXK transcript is expressed in all tested tissues and shows circadian oscillations.
In mice, Pdxk expression in liver and brain is regulated by the transcription factors Dbp, Hlf, and Tef, which also display circadian expression. Mice lacking these factors exhibit reduced brain PLP, serotonin, and dopamine levels, leading to increased susceptibility to epileptic seizures.
