Product Specific Information

Recombinant rabbit polyclonal antibodies are unique offerings from Thermo Fisher Scientific. They consist of a defined mixture of multiple recombinant monoclonal antibodies, combining the sensitivity of polyclonal antibodies with the specificity and consistency of monoclonal antibodies. Each batch is reproducible, eliminating the biological variability typical of traditional polyclonal antibody production. These antibodies recognize multiple epitopes on the target, providing enhanced detection sensitivity for low-abundance proteins.

Target Information

The Akt signaling pathway regulates apoptosis in response to various cell death signals. AKT1S1 (also known as PRAS40) is a proline-rich substrate of the kinase AKT1 and may play a role in neuroprotection mediated by nerve growth factor (NGF) after transient focal cerebral ischemia. AKT1S1 also acts as a substrate and potential regulator of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), which controls cell growth and cycle, and serves as a negative regulator of autophagy. Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF1) can induce phosphorylation of AKT1S1 via the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway in PC12 cells.
