Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Murine IL-17A. Anti-Murine IL-17A-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect mIL-17A by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Murine IL-17A (500-P265) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of recombinant mIL-17A.

Western Blot:
To detect mIL-17A by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for recombinant mIL-17A is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.
IL-17A is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer consisting of 136 amino acids, part of the IL-17A–F family, and signals through the IL-17 receptor (IL-17R/CDw217).
It enhances ICAM-1 expression in human fibroblasts and stimulates epithelial, endothelial, or fibroblastic cells to secrete IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2.
IL-17A regulates NF-kappa B and MAP kinase activities, stimulates IL-6 and COX-2 expression, and enhances nitric oxide (NO) production.
