Target Information
P2Y1 is a purinergic receptor that mediates platelet shape change and aggregation by binding ADP, leading to intracellular calcium mobilization via phospholipase C activation.
It also induces nitric oxide release and may modulate neuronal signal transmission.
P2Y1 is expressed in various tissues, especially the brain, with ESTs identified from human embryo, lung, and placenta libraries.
