For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.

Target Information

The Maf oncogene was identified by structural analysis of the AS42 avian transforming retrovirus genome. The Maf family is divided into two subclasses:

• Large Mafs: vMaf, cMaf, MafB, Nrl
• Small Mafs: MafF, MafK, MafG

Both subclasses contain leucine zipper motifs, allowing homo- and heterodimerization with other bZip transcription factors.
Large Mafs contain an acidic transactivation domain absent in small Maf proteins. Small Mafs can act as positive or negative regulators of transcription, depending on their dimerization partners.

Human MafF encodes a 164 amino acid protein with an extended leucine zipper structure and lacks an N-terminal transactivation domain.
Small Maf proteins are implicated in development, differentiation, hematopoiesis, and stress response, regulating stress pathways via distinct mechanisms.
