Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of p27 Kip1 only when phosphorylated at Threonine 187.
Target Information
p27 Kip1 functions as a negative regulator of G1 phase expression and may mediate TGFβ-induced G1 arrest. It regulates cell cycle progression by inhibiting cyclin E- and cyclin A-CDK2 complexes. p27 Kip1 also interacts with cyclin D-CDK4 complexes, influencing their assembly and activation depending on its phosphorylation state. The protein (~27 kDa) undergoes CDK-dependent phosphorylation and ubiquitination by SCF complexes, which triggers degradation necessary for the transition from quiescence to proliferation.
