For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve approximately 1 mg/mL antibody concentration.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

STAT5 alpha is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases, then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the nucleus and act as transcription activators.
STAT5 alpha mediates responses to IL2, IL3, IL7, GM-CSF, erythropoietin, thrombopoietin, and various growth hormones. Constitutive activation due to TEL/JAK2 fusion is associated with tumorigenesis in myeloma and lymphoma.
In mice, STAT5 alpha induces BCL2L1/BCL-X(L) expression, suggesting an anti-apoptotic role. STAT5 alpha and STAT5 beta share 96% sequence similarity and are co-expressed in most tissues, with differential mRNA accumulation in muscle and mammary tissue.
STAT5 alpha is involved in reproduction, lactation, immune function, and somatic growth.
