Target Information

IKK gamma (IKBKG) is the regulatory subunit of the inhibitor of the kappaB kinase (IKK) complex, which activates NF-kappaB. This activation leads to the expression of genes involved in inflammation, immunity, and cell survival.
Mutations in IKBKG are associated with disorders such as incontinentia pigmenti, hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia, and various immunodeficiencies.
Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified, and a pseudogene highly similar to this locus is located on an adjacent region of the X chromosome.
