Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

This gene encodes the coagulation factor XIII B subunit. Coagulation factor XIII is the final zymogen activated in the blood coagulation cascade. Plasma factor XIII is a heterotetramer composed of two A subunits (catalytic) and two B subunits (non-enzymatic carrier molecules). Platelet factor XIII contains only two A subunits identical to those in plasma. Upon thrombin activation in the presence of calcium ions, the B subunits dissociate, producing the active enzyme factor XIIIa, which acts as a transglutaminase to catalyze crosslinking between fibrin molecules, stabilizing the clot.
Factor XIII deficiency includes:

  • Type I deficiency: Lack of both A and B subunits
  • Type II deficiency: Lack of A subunit only
These conditions can cause lifelong bleeding tendency, impaired wound healing, and habitual abortion.
