Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene located on chromosome 11 in humans. Also known as RelA, this protein belongs to the Rel family and forms heterodimers with p50 or p52 subunits of NF-kB (Nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer of activated B cells).
Upon TNF alpha receptor activation, IKK phosphorylates I kB, leading to its proteasomal degradation and subsequent activation of NF-kB. NF-kB p65 plays a crucial role in transcription regulation of the immunoglobulin kappa gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
