Product Specific Information

The YKIX302.9 monoclonal antibody reacts with canine CD4, a cell surface receptor expressed on thymocytes, mature T cells, dendritic cells, and neutrophils. CD4 binds to MHC class II on antigen-presenting cells, playing a key role in T cell development and homeostasis.

This antibody blocks MHC II-restricted T cell responses in vivo and in vitro.
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis and tested with normal canine peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.25 µg)/test. A test corresponds to staining a 100 µL cell sample (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Super Bright 702 is a tandem dye excited by a 405 nm violet laser and emits at 702 nm. Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass. Ensure instrument compatibility.

When using multiple Super Bright dyes, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Light sensitivity: Protect vial and samples from light.
Fixation: Samples can be stored up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark using:

• IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222)
• 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333)

Target Information

CD4 antigen recognizes MHC class II molecules and serves as a co-receptor for HIV. Expressed mainly in T helper cells, but also in monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. Tissue expression includes thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and certain regions of brain and gut.

CD4 aids early T-cell activation via association with TCR complex and Lck kinase. It may mediate neuronal damage in infectious or immune-mediated CNS diseases. Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts are known (RefSeq, July 2017).
