This product is preservative free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information

IL-5 is a cytokine that acts as a growth and differentiation factor for both B cells and eosinophils. It regulates eosinopoiesis, eosinophil maturation, and activation. Elevated IL-5 production is associated with asthma and hypereosinophilic syndromes.

The IL-5 receptor is a heterodimer; its beta subunit is shared with receptors for IL3 and CSF2 (GM-CSF). IL-5, IL4, IL13, and CSF2 form a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q31, coordinated by long-range regulatory elements.
