Target Information
B4GALT2는 type II 막 결합 당단백질 중 하나로, UDP-galactose에 대한 특이성을 가지며 β1,4 결합을 통해 GlcNAc, Glc, Xyl 등의 수용체 당에 galactose를 전달합니다. 각 β4GalT는 서로 다른 당사슬 구조 및 당단백질 합성 과정에 관여합니다.
이 효소는 glycolipids 및 glycoproteins에서 N-acetyllactosamine을 합성하며, α-lactalbumin에 의해 기질 특이성이 영향을 받지만 수유 중인 유선 조직에서는 발현되지 않습니다.
