Target Information
TIP60 is a transcription factor originally isolated as an HIV-1 TAT-interactive protein. It interacts with the viral TAT protein, leading to HTATIP polyubiquitination and degradation. TIP60 belongs to the MYST family of histone acetyltransferases (HATs) and functions as a catalytic subunit of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase complex, which acetylates histones H4 and H2A to activate transcription. It acts as a co-regulator of transcription factors, influencing tumorigenesis by promoting or suppressing it. TIP60 also plays roles in DNA repair, apoptosis, and signal transduction.
