- In direct ELISAs, approximately 15% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Cathepsin C is observed.
- Less than 5% cross-reactivity with rhCathepsin A, D, X/Z/P, S, and L.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
Cathepsin V (CTSU, CTSV, CATL2, cathepsin U, cathepsin L2) is a lysosomal cysteine proteinase that influences corneal physiology and mediates degradation of invariant chain in the human thymus. It is expressed in corneal epithelium, activated macrophages, and certain carcinomas such as colorectal and breast cancer. A 1.8-kb mRNA to Cathepsin V is present in normal human thymus and testis. Cathepsin V belongs to the peptidase C1 family. Cysteine proteinases are synthesized as preproenzymes and processed to proenzymes, which are targeted to lysosomes or secretory pathways.
