Product Specific Information
The WM59 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD31 (PECAM-1, gpIIa), a 130–140 kDa surface protein expressed mainly by endothelial cells and at low levels on leukocytes and platelets. CD31 plays key roles in adhesion, cell–cell and cell–matrix interactions, and signal transduction. CD38 is known to bind CD31, and homotypic CD31 interactions are crucial for cellular adhesion processes.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Verified by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells. Recommended ≤0.25 µg/test in a final volume of 100 µL (cell density 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Optimal titer should be determined experimentally.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
CD31 (platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1, PECAM-1) is an inhibitory coreceptor regulating T and B cell signaling through dual ITIM motifs that recruit phosphatases upon phosphorylation. It is widely expressed within the vascular compartment, primarily at intercellular junctions. Its N-terminal Ig-like domain mediates homophilic binding, essential for cell-cell interactions.
