Description:
The eBioHMb1-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and rat CD29 (integrin beta 1), a 110–120 kDa member of the beta integrin family expressed by leukocytes, endothelial, smooth muscle, and epithelial cells. CD29 forms heterodimers with alpha integrins (CD49a–f) to create VLA-1 through VLA-6 complexes, as well as with CD51. These integrins mediate cellular processes such as adhesion, trafficking, proliferation, and differentiation. CD29-containing integrins bind extracellular matrix proteins (collagen, laminin, fibronectin, vitronectin) and can interact with cellular receptors like VCAM-1 and MadCAM-1.

Applications Reported:
Suitable for flow cytometric analysis and immunohistology staining of frozen tissue sections.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number should be optimized empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody titration is recommended for best performance.


Target Information

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, CD29):
A 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein expressed by various cell types including all leukocytes. Forms non-covalent heterodimers with at least six alpha chains (α1–α6), determining VLA integrin binding properties. Functions in cell adhesion, migration, and immune cell trafficking. Expression changes are associated with tumor drug resistance and inflammatory responses. Two major isoforms, β1A and β1D, show tissue-specific distribution.
