MA5-17098 detects IL-34, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 27.5 kDa.
Target Information
IL-34 is secreted as a dimeric protein and belongs to no known cytokine family. It signals via the M-CSF receptor (CSF-1R/CD115), shared with M-CSF.
Although IL-34 has no amino acid sequence homology to M-CSF, they share similarities in secondary structure and overlapping functions.
IL-34 promotes myeloid survival, proliferation, and differentiation, and plays a role in osteoclast formation. Expression is detected in various tissues and is most abundant in the spleen.
