Target Information
IGFs(Insulin-like Growth Factors)는 다양한 세포 유형(근육, 뼈, 연골 등)의 증식과 생존을 자극하는 성장 인자입니다.
주로 간에서 생성되며, 여러 조직에서도 특정 시기에 발현됩니다.
IGF family는 insulin 및 relaxin과 함께 Insulin 유전자 계열에 속하며, 구조와 기능이 insulin과 유사하지만 성장 촉진 활성이 더 높습니다.
IGF-II는 placenta lactogen에 의해, IGF-I은 성장호르몬에 의해 조절됩니다.
두 IGF 모두 tyrosine kinase type I receptor (IGF-IR)를 통해 신호를 전달하며, IGF-II는 IGF-II/Mannose-6-phosphate receptor를 통해서도 작용할 수 있습니다.
성숙한 IGFs는 비활성 전구체 단백질의 N- 및 C-말단 propeptide 제거를 통해 생성됩니다.
