Target Information
MLH1은 DNA 불일치 수선(mismatch repair) 단백질로, 유전 정보의 안정성을 유지하는 데 필수적인 역할을 합니다. DNA 복제 중 가닥 불일치에 의해 발생하는 마이크로새틀라이트 불안정성(MSI)은 인간 발암 과정과 관련이 있습니다.
유전성 비폴립성 대장암(HNPCC)의 원인 유전자로 밝혀지면서 mismatch repair 유전자의 중요성이 부각되었습니다.
MLH1은 MSH2 및 PMSH와 함께 mismatch DNA 복구의 후반 단계를 촉진하는 복합체를 형성하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
