Product Specific Information

The DS7HAXL monoclonal antibody recognizes human Axl, a member of the TAM family of tyrosine kinase receptors, which includes MerTK and Tyro3. This antibody is suitable for flow cytometry on both native and paraformaldehyde-fixed cells and can stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues for IHC analysis.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometry on normal human peripheral blood cells.
Use 5 µL (0.06 µg) per test in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Target Information

AXL is a receptor tyrosine kinase associated with chronic myelogenous leukemia, colon cancer, and melanoma. It transduces extracellular matrix signals into the cytoplasm by binding growth factors like GAS6 and is involved in cell proliferation and phagocytosis of apoptotic cells. Deficiency in TAM receptors leads to degenerative and autoimmune phenotypes. Axl also functions as an entry receptor for filoviruses and as a marker for Siglec 6⁺/Axl⁺ dendritic cells. Expression can be upregulated by TLR ligands (LPS or poly I:C). Soluble Axl levels may increase during inflammation and cancer.
