Target Information
Members of the human serpin family regulate diverse serine and cysteine proteinases involved in processes such as fibrinolysis, coagulation, inflammation, cell mobility, differentiation, and apoptosis. Most serpins are secreted, but the ov-serpin subset resides intracellularly. SERPINB13 (Headpin) is underexpressed in squamous cell cancers of the oral cavity but is expressed in normal oral mucosa, skin, and cultured keratinocytes.
