Product Specific Information

MA1-70089 detects GITR in mouse samples.
It has been successfully used in flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry (frozen sections).
The immunogen is mouse GITR transfectant.


Target Information

Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 18 (TNFRSF18), also known as GITR or AITR, is encoded by the TNFRSF18 gene located on chromosome 1p36.33.
This receptor belongs to the TNF-receptor superfamily and shows increased expression upon T-cell activation.
It plays a key role in maintaining immunological self-tolerance via CD25(+)CD4(+) regulatory T cells.
Knockout studies in mice indicate its involvement in CD3-driven T-cell activation and programmed cell death.
Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
