This 8B2 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Aiolos, a 58-kDa member of the Ikaros family of zinc finger transcription factors.
Aiolos expression is restricted to the lymphoid lineage, with highest levels in B cells, followed by NK and T cells. It forms homodimers or heterodimers with Ikaros proteins and shows nuclear localization upon IL-2 stimulation in T cells.
Aiolos contributes to IL-2-mediated anti-apoptosis via Bcl-2 regulation and plays a role in B cell development, being upregulated during pre-BI to pre-BII transition.

Applications Reported:

• Intracellular staining followed by flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:

• Tested by intracellular flow cytometry of mouse splenocytes using Foxp3/Transcription Factor Staining Buffer Set (Product #00-5523-00).
• Recommended ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume).
• Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.
• Optimize antibody titration for best results.

Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the Ikaros family of zinc-finger proteins.
Ikaros, Aiolos, and Helios are hematopoietic-specific transcription factors regulating lymphocyte development.
Aiolos regulates B lymphocyte proliferation and differentiation and participates in chromatin remodeling through Ikaros/Aiolos dimer formation.
At least six alternative transcripts encoding different isoforms have been described.
