MA5-17086 targets GUCY1A3 in indirect ELISA, FACS, ICC, IHC, IF, and WB applications, showing reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human GUCY1A3 (amino acids 22–214) expressed in E. coli.
MA5-17086 detects GUCY1A3 with a predicted molecular weight of approximately 77.5 kDa.

Target Information

Guanylate cyclases belong to the adenylyl cyclase class-4/guanylyl cyclase family.
There are two forms of guanylate cyclase:

• Soluble form (GCS or sGC): Acts as a receptor for nitric oxide.
• Membrane-bound receptor form (GC): Functions as a peptide hormone receptor.

The GC-C protein consists of:

• Extracellular domain
• Single transmembrane domain
• Cytoplasmic region with kinase-like and catalytic domains

It exists as two differentially glycosylated forms:

• 130 kDa precursor (endoplasmic reticulum)
• 145 kDa mature form (plasma membrane)

Ligand binding to the extracellular domain of GC-C promotes accumulation of cGMP.
GC-C acts as the receptor for heat-stable enterotoxins from pathogenic E. coli, causing severe secretory diarrhea.
It also binds guanylin and uroguanylin peptides, which modulate renal function in response to oral salt load.
