Product Specific Information

This antibody detects endogenous levels of Cyclin D1 only when phosphorylated at Thr288.

Target Information

Cyclin D1 (PRAD-1, bcl-1) is a key regulator of the cell cycle that functions with CDK4 and/or CDK6 to phosphorylate the Rb protein. It acts as a proto-oncogene and is often overexpressed in various human cancers, including mantle cell lymphoma. Cyclin D1 regulates protein phosphorylation, epithelial cell proliferation, and adipocyte differentiation. The CCND1 gene is located on chromosome 11 in humans. Cyclin D1 is synthesized during the G1 phase and forms complexes with CDK4 or CDK6 in response to growth factors, driving the G1/S transition. Its degradation is triggered by phosphorylation, leading to G1/S arrest when growth signals are absent. Mutations or overexpression of Cyclin D1 are frequently associated with tumorigenesis, making it a valuable target in cancer research and cell cycle studies.
