Antibody detects endogenous levels of eEF2K only when phosphorylated at Ser359.
Target Information
EEF2K is a highly conserved serine/threonine kinase in the calmodulin signaling pathway whose activity is increased in cancers, including breast cancer.
EEF2K (eukaryotic elongation factor 2 kinase) regulates protein synthesis by controlling the rate of peptide chain elongation. Upon activation by upstream kinases such as AMPK or TRPM7, EEF2K phosphorylates elongation factor EEF2 at a single site, rendering EEF2 unable to bind ribosomes and thereby reducing the rate of protein synthesis.
