This antibody detects endogenous levels of MYPT1 only when phosphorylated at Tyr766.
Target Information
Myosin phosphatase target subunit 1 (MYPT1), also known as the myosin-binding subunit of myosin phosphatase, is a regulatory component controlling actin–myosin interactions downstream of the small GTPase Rho. RhoA, in its active GTP-bound form, interacts with MYPT1 and regulates myosin light chain (MLC) phosphorylation, influencing smooth muscle contraction and cytoskeletal dynamics in nonmuscle cells. Rho-associated kinase (Rho-kinase) phosphorylates and inactivates MYPT1, thereby inhibiting myosin phosphatase activity. Overexpression or activation of RhoA increases MBS and MLC phosphorylation. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms of MYPT1 have been identified.
