Product Specific Information

The RB6-8C5 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Ly-6G, also known as the myeloid differentiation antigen Gr-1 (21–25 kDa). Gr-1 is a GPI-linked protein expressed in a developmentally regulated manner by the myeloid lineage in bone marrow.
Monocytes express Gr-1 transiently during development, while granulocytes and peripheral neutrophils show consistent expression, making Gr-1 a reliable marker for these populations.

Testing by eBioscience indicates that RB6-8C5 also stains cells expressing high levels of Ly6c. For Ly-6G-specific targets, use 1A8-Ly6G (Product # 9668).

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells at ≤0.5 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell count range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Titrate for optimal performance.

Super Bright 436 is excited at 405 nm (violet laser) and emits at 436 nm. Recommended filter: 450/50 bandpass or equivalent. Ensure instrument compatibility.

When using multiple Super Bright-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Target Information

Granulocytes are white blood cells containing cytoplasmic granules. Also known as polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN or PML), they exhibit lobed nuclei, typically with three segments. The term PMN often refers specifically to neutrophils, the most abundant granulocytes. These cells are released from bone marrow under regulation by complement proteins.
