Product Specific Information

MA5-15924 targets SRC in indirect ELISA, FACS, IHC, and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human SRC expressed in E. coli.
MA5-15924 detects SRC, which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately 60 kDa.

Target Information

SRC is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase and proto-oncogene involved in regulation of embryonic development and cell growth.
It associates with the cytoplasmic region of various cell surface receptors to facilitate signal transduction and plays roles in cytoskeletal organization, cell cycle regulation, and apoptosis.
In humans, the SRC gene is located on chromosome 20.
Activity is regulated by phosphorylation at two tyrosine residues (Tyr416 and Tyr527), which have opposing effects: phosphorylation at Tyr416 activates, while phosphorylation at Tyr527 inhibits enzyme activity.
Mutations in SRC may contribute to malignant progression of colon cancer.
Two transcript variants encoding the same SRC protein have been identified.
