ADAMTS13는 ADAMTS (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motif) 단백질 패밀리에 속합니다.
이 패밀리의 단백질들은 프로펩타이드 영역, 메탈로프로테이나제 도메인, 디스인테그린 유사 도메인, 그리고 thrombospondin type 1 (TS) 모티프를 포함합니다.
각 구성원은 C-말단 TS 모티프의 수와 고유한 C-말단 도메인에서 차이를 보입니다.
ADAMTS13 효소는 von Willebrand Factor (vWF)-cleaving protease로서, vWF 분자의 Tyr842–Met843 위치를 절단합니다.
