Description:
The eBioSN4 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD9, a 24 kDa member of the tetraspanin family characterized by four hydrophobic transmembrane domains. CD9 is expressed in platelets, eosinophils, basophils, pre-B cells, activated T cells, and neural cell lines. It is associated with malignant phenotypes, including expression in various leukemia types. CD9 plays roles in platelet aggregation, pre-B cell adhesion, and T-cell co-stimulation.

Applications Reported:
This antibody is reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human platelets. Use 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell count range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Fluorochrome Information:
PerCP-eFluor® 710 emits at 710 nm and is excited with a 488 nm blue laser. Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass (695/40 acceptable alternative). Ensure instrument compatibility.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in:

Target Information

CD9 antigen is a glycoprotein expressed on B lymphocytes, platelets, monocytes, eosinophils, basophils, stimulated T lymphocytes, neurons, and glial cells. It belongs to the tetraspanin family with four transmembrane domains. CD9 regulates cell activation and aggregation via interaction with integrins (CD41/CD61). It is involved in cell motility, osteoclastogenesis, neurite outgrowth, myotube formation, sperm-egg fusion, and T cell stimulation. CD9 expression is linked to suppression of cancer cell motility and metastasis and functions as a metastasis suppressor in solid tumors.
