Product Specific Information

This OX42 monoclonal antibody reacts with rat CD11b and CD11c.
CD11b (integrin alpha M, Mac-1) is part of complement receptor 3 (CR3), and CD11c (integrin alpha X) is part of complement receptor 4 (CR4).
Both are expressed on macrophages, monocytes, granulocytes, and dendritic cells. OX42 detects microglia in brain, liver, and epidermis cells.

OX42 inhibits complement-mediated rosette formation and granulocyte aggregation.
Reported for use in flow cytometric analysis of rat splenocytes at ≤0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume).
Cell numbers may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test; titration recommended for optimal performance.

Fluorophore Information:

• PerCP-eFluor® 710 emits at 710 nm, excited at 488 nm (blue laser).
• Recommended filter: 710/50 bandpass; alternative: 695/40 bandpass.
• Ensure instrument compatibility.

Target Information

Integrins are heterodimeric membrane proteins composed of alpha and beta chains.

• CD11b: Mediates adhesion and uptake of complement-coated particles; identical to CR3 (receptor for iC3b).
  Expressed on macrophages, granulocytes, NK cells, blood monocytes, and used as microglial marker.
  Present on ~8% spleen cells, 44% bone marrow cells, <1% thymocytes.

• CD11c: Encodes integrin alpha X chain; forms CR4 with beta 2 chain (ITGB2).
  Involved in neutrophil and monocyte adhesion and phagocytosis of complement-coated particles.
  Mutations can lead to systemic lupus erythematosus 6.
