This antibody detects endogenous levels of TRAF2 only when phosphorylated at Thr22.
Target Information
Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor associated factors (TRAFs) act as adaptor proteins linking the TNF receptor superfamily to intracellular signaling pathways. These proteins regulate cell death and stress responses by binding to cell receptors and other TRAF proteins, activating distinct signaling cascades depending on the TRAF involved.
TRAF2 and TRAF3 directly bind to CD40, a member of the NF receptor superfamily involved in B cell immunity, and are essential for NF-kappa-B activation in mouse B lymphocytes. TRAF2 and TRAF6 are required for CD40 signaling in non-hematopoietic cells. TRAF2 also interacts with the lymphotoxin-beta receptor (LTbetaR) along with TRAF3 and apoptosis inhibitors cIAP1 and Smac.
