Product Specific Information

Reconstitution:
Briefly centrifuge the vial before opening to collect contents at the bottom. Reconstitute mouse IL-15 in sterile, distilled water to a concentration of 0.5–1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex. Store the solution at 2–8°C for up to 1 week. For extended storage, dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (e.g., 0.1% BSA) and store aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.

Storage:
Lyophilized protein is stable at room temperature for 1 month. For long-term storage, keep at -20°C. Working aliquots with carrier protein remain stable for at least 6 months at -20°C to -80°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Target Information

IL-15 (Interleukin 15) is a cytokine that regulates T and natural killer cell activation and proliferation. IL-15 and IL-2 share many biological activities and may compete for the same receptor, thus modulating each other's activity. It influences CD8+ memory cell balance and activates JAK kinases and transcription factors STAT3, STAT5, and STAT6.
In mouse studies, IL-15 increases Bcl-xL expression through STAT6 activation, preventing apoptosis. It plays a key role in T/B lymphocyte growth, NK cell, macrophage, and monocyte activation, and in intracellular signaling. IL-15 is crucial for immune responses, allograft rejection, and autoimmune disease pathogenesis. It is also implicated in inflammatory disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and pulmonary inflammation. Neutralization of IL-15 shows therapeutic potential in psoriasis and diabetes models.
