Target Information
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase)는 해당과정(glycolysis)에 관여하는 촉매 효소로, 37 kDa의 동일한 소단위체 4개로 구성된 테트라머 형태로 존재합니다. NADPH 존재 하에 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate를 glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate로 가역적으로 환원시킵니다.
GAPDH는 해당과정 외에도 DNA 복제 및 수선, RNA 수출, 막 융합, 미세소관 결합 등 다양한 세포 기능에 관여하며, 세포자멸사(apoptosis), 노화 관련 신경퇴행성 질환, 암 등에서도 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
또한 GAPDH는 amyloid precursor protein 및 Huntingtin 단백질과 상호작용하며, actin 및 tubulin과의 결합도 보고되었습니다. 대부분의 조직에서 높은 발현 수준을 보이므로 Western blot에서 단백질 로딩 컨트롤로 널리 사용됩니다.
